Memphis vs. UCF cancelled due to Hurricane Irma

The University of Memphis was slated to face UCF in their AAC opener Friday afternoon in Orlando, Florida. 24 hours before kickoff, the Memphis vs. UCF game was canceled as Hurricane Irma loomed over the Florida Coast. Florida Governor Rick Scott closed all Florida state universities Thursday night.

The Tigers were informed of the game cancellation as they landed in Orlando on Thursday night according to the 92.9 source. Players & coaches immediately boarded a flight back to Memphis. Equipment managers, cheerleaders and the rest of the Memphis staff are flying back Friday morning. 

Memphis & UCF will continue to work with the AAC on a potential make-up game.
